Marianne Goodfellow, Ph.D. has assumed the role of President of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society (PSS) effective October 23, 2015. PSS is a 66 year-old regional sociological society.
Marianne is a member of the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department at Lebanon Valley College. She teaches undergraduate courses with a focus on family studies including Sociology of Marriage and the Family, Women and Gender Issues, and the Sociology of Work. In addition she teaches both Introduction to Sociology and Research Methods.
Her current research focuses on campus violence prevention and bystander intervention. She has studied issues of aging, homelessness and homeless services, first year college student transition issues, and DUI. She is embarking on a county-wide assessment of services for victims of human trafficking.
Dr. Goodfellow received her doctoral degree from Penn State in 1995 and her master’s degree from Penn State in 1982. In addition to her passion for all things sociological, she practices and teaches classic yoga.
