Call for Submissions

to Socoiological Viewpoints

Patricia Neff Claster, Ph.D., Editor

Sociological Viewpoints, the peer-reviewed journal of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society, is seeking manuscript submissions for its 34th volume.

The journal publishes empirical and theoretical research papers, case studies, literature reviews and book reviews. Manuscripts on all facets of sociological inquiry are welcome. Manuscripts from related disciplines (criminology, political science, social work, etc.) are encouraged to submit work, provided there is sociological content and analysis. Graduate students working with faculty advisors are also invited to submit manuscripts for consideration.

Authors interested in contributing to the upcoming volume of the journal should submit manuscripts directly to the editor (pnclaster@edinboro.edu), in Word (.doc or .docx) format. Manuscripts should not exceed 40 double-spaced pages (not including tables, figures, and references) and represent previously unpublished work.  The citation style adopted by the American Sociological Association should be used and the link for the ASA style of citation is included at the bottom of this page. Manuscripts should include a title page that is absent of any identifying information for the purpose of review and an abstract of 150-200 words.  All manuscripts will undergo peer review by two reviewers.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to July 31, 2020.  Please direct any questions to the editor, Dr. Patricia Claster, at pnclaster@edinboro.edu.
